Engineer and Designer at SpaceX

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, growing up amidst a culture of sustainability and green thinking. I started schooling at the math and science magnet school of Winterhaven, where my interests in science and technology developed. I went to Cleveland High School, where I further developed his skills in engineering, challenging myself with the rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum. I knew I was destined for science when I was the only one to do a science experiment for my capstone project. I then moved to Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, where I learned engineering through classes and projects both curricular and independent.

I've worked in a variety of settings, from bussing tables and washing dishes to performing office tasks and tutoring over the phone. One summer, I took a summer internship at Free Geek in Portland, where I tested, recycled, and built computers from the ground up. As a Junior in College, I started assisting an experimental engineering and rocketry lab course, meanwhile building a unique two-stage "rocket in a rocket". That summer, I build on a hovercraft as a design project for which he was granted funding over the summer.

After making a lightweight emergency data recorder for SpaceX during Senior year of college, I was hired to their Dragon life support systems engineering team. Aerospace interests me because it is the most extreme environment to design for... Everything must work perfectly under brutal dynamic and thermal conditions, in addition to being as lightweight as possible. I work on spacecraft structures and fluid systems at the highest level of reliability.
